This hidden superpower will get you ahead of 99% of people
The other night, I had no idea what I wanted to write my following newsletter about.
So, I tried something that I had read called the Macgyver method.
Before going to bed, I wrote on a piece of paper, "What should my newsletter be about?" I was a bit skeptical of the results I would have in the morning.
So I went off to bed and when I woke up the next morning the first thought I had when I looked at the question was "Intuition".
Hence, this newsletter.
Why not using your intuition is ruining your life.
You might wonder why intuition matters and why you should care about having intuition.
Steve Jobs said, "Intuition is a very powerful thing—more powerful than intellect, in my opinion."
Albert Einstein said - "The intellect has little to do on the road to discovery. There comes a leap in consciousness; call it intuition or what you will, and the solution comes to you, and you don't know how or why. All great discoveries are made in this way".
If you are still skeptical that intuition is important, think about this:
Would it be possible for you to make rapid, fast decisions with only your intellect in a world that is becoming increasingly saturated with information?
Your intellect wouldn't. Your intuition allows you to navigate the chaos of the modern world.
But some people don't listen or believe in their intuition.
And I believe the more you trust yourself, the better and more accurate your intuition will become.
Ignoring your intuition puts you far behind the people using it in every realm of human pursuit. Whether it is sports, social media, making money, etc. The cost of not training and utilizing your innate intuition is immense.
Your intuition could save your life, help you find the love of your life, or help you find an opportunity to double your revenue.
Intuition is so powerful that the human race may have never survived without it.
Imagine if we only started using the sun once we fully understood what it was. PS. We only fully understood what it was in the 1930s.
Yet since the beginning of time, humans have had the intuition that the sun helps plants flourish, provides heat, and indicates the amount of time left in the day.
If you want more actionable steps to build your intuition, I will share them shortly.
But first, we must understand what intuition is.
The science of intuition
The most intuitive part of your body is the heart.
It informs the rest of the body.
To feel the intuition of your heart you must quiet the mind.
Every heart has wisdom. By accessing the heart's intelligence, creative ways are found to balance challenges.
There are many benefits of accessing the intelligence of your heart(From the Heart Math Institute):
• Increases creativity
• More discerning choices
• Minimize energy expenditures
• Deeper wisdom and intelligence
• Able to interact more harmoniously
• Align with your heart's qualities and values
3 types of intuition
Nonlocal
Implicit Knowledge
Energetic sensitivity
Implicit Knowledge
This refers to the knowledge that we learned in the past that we forgot we learned or did not know we learned. This intuition has primarily to do with pattern matching.
Intuition - "Comes from the unconscious part of our mind. It is our implicit learning system."
Most intuition is a pattern that our unconscious mind has often picked up on from doing an activity. This kind of intuition is less esoteric than the other types of intuition that will be discussed.
This kind of intuition is more powerful depending on your mastery of the subject or endeavor.
For example in chess, a grandmaster might have the intuition that he should move his bishop to G5 but have no reason to explain why.
However, a chess noob like myself might think pawn to C5 is a great move and have no reason to explain it.
One of their intuition is more accurate. For pattern recognition, the subconscious mind is incomparably more powerful than its counterpart.
The main problem with this intuition is that it can be incorrect, because the current context may not be relevant to the past context.
Just because something in the past worked does not mean that it will work now.
Energetic Sensitivity
This is our nervous system's ability to detect and respond in a meaningful way to real signals in the environment. For example, there is a magnetic field in the heart that carries information.
Our nervous system can pick up on this information from other people and respond to it based on the meaning of the signal.
More examples of energetic sensitivity:
• Empathy
• People are sensitive to arriving earthquakes
• That feeling when you feel you're getting stared at.'
Nonlocal
This is intuition that cannot be explained by implicit processes or energetic sensitivity.
Often have to do with intuition about the future. An example of this intuition is when a mother is far away from their child and has no way to hear them but senses that they are in trouble. They could be across the world or even outside playing and mothers can sense this.
This nonlocal intuition is going on all the time but we don't always recognize it.
Why most don't have access to or use their intuition
The problem with many today is that most of us don’t know what to call intuition, so we ignore it.
We must give language around intuition, whether it’s your vibes, gut, or hunch.
If you don’t have intuition to help filter information saturation, we will be mediocre.
3 "lights" of Intuition
Red Light
Green Light
White Light
Red Light
The basic intuition is red light. It is for survival.
The Vagus nerve is the intuitive nerve of the body. Feelings will always come from your gut. The vagus nerve centers in your gut are the strongest because they keep you safe.
Actionable steps for exercising red light intuition:
Come up with a list of 5 ways to explain intuition to yourself.
Note: You don’t need anyone else’s approval for this.
This can help you use language when you need to tell other people. You might have bad vibes or something else. Putting language to it helps you trust your intuition and begin to use and pick up on it more.
Green Light
This is go-for-it intuition.
This intuition signals opportunity.
Requirement for green light intuition:
Quiet state of mind and space.
A quiet state of mind is difficult to reach but I will outline some steps below to help.
Steps to meet this requirement:
• Look around and name 3 things right in front of you out loud(pulls you out of your head and into the moment)
• Breathe in very slowly without raising your shoulders. Put your tongue on the roof of your mouth. And exhale like you're blowing out candles. Empty all the energy you’re holding onto in your body. Repeat this
• The third breath is going down the slide and breathing out loud through your mouth with your voice slowly getting fainter.
White light:
White light is the intuition of our spiritual path. It is your higher self your higher consciousness.
It is always traveling with you and letting you know if you are in integrity and wholeness. When you say “it does not feel like me” “it doesn’t resonate” or “It’s off” that is your white light intuition.
Sometimes you will hear a voice in your head instead of only a feeling.
This is because we pick up vibrations and we need to interpret the energy. We interpret it with our internal system. The voice you hear is the voice of your own higher self. You receive the vibration and have to internally language it.
Exercise for tapping into white light intuition
• Name your spirit(highest self)
• Ask what your spirit loved
A good way to implement with your professional or less professional relationships:
Ask how is your spirit today.
If your colleagues or loved ones have difficult decisions ask them:
What does your spirit say?
This helps them to tap into their intuition by using a different language.
Synchronicities
The more you train your intuition, the more synchronicities you will notice.
Analytical psychologist Carl Jung introduced the concept of synchronicity "to describe circumstances that appear meaningfully related yet lack a causal connection."
Synchronicities are conceived under the idea that life is not a random assortment of disconnected events but rather a beautifully orchestrated symphony of experience.
All you have to do to see synchronicity is to open your mind to the same frequency.
For example, say “Universe send me signs that synchronicities exist”
Synchronicities are always happening you have to open yourself up to it.
Carl Jung the famous psychologist himself said that the more you become aware of synchronicities the more you pay attention to them. The more they will occur.
One way you can become more aware is with a Synchronicity Journal.
Write down when you notice "coincidences".
Note them down at the end of each day.
The theory is that you will start to notice more of them as you become more aware.
For example, here is a synchronicity I wrote down the other day that I noticed:
I was walking while listening to music and I noticed someone in front of me on the path walking towards me. I consciously decided to take a left off the path to avoid walking next to them.
When I turned left: the song I was listening to said "You take a left I take a right" Then while I turned left I walked in a spider web.
While this coincidence may be small I think it is a sign that I shouldn't have consciously avoided possible human interaction.
Next Steps:
In this newsletter, we've explored the incredible power of intuition and why it's crucial to tap into this "hidden superpower" that lies within all of us. We've examined the science behind intuition, uncovering the different types - from implicit knowledge to energetic sensitivity and beyond. Most importantly, we've discussed practical steps you can take to start cultivating your intuitive abilities.
The key takeaway here is that your intuition is an invaluable asset that can help you navigate the complexities of modern life with greater ease, clarity, and success.
By learning to listen to the wisdom of your heart and quiet the chatter of your conscious mind, you'll unlock a wellspring of insight, creativity, and discernment that will set you apart from the crowd.
So what should you do now? I encourage you to start small - try the breathing exercises and journaling techniques outlined in this newsletter.
Notice the synchronicities that arise when you open yourself up to that frequency. Over time, you'll become more attuned to the different "lights" of your intuition, empowering you to make better decisions, uncover hidden opportunities, and align your actions with your deepest values and highest purpose.
